Terms of Use
Last updated: 28 May 2026
1. Acceptance
By using Ask Horas (the “Service”) on the web at askhoras.ae / askhoras.com or via our Telegram bot, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using Horas you confirm you meet this age requirement.
3. Service description
Horas is an AI-powered tool that provides risk assessments for content you suspect may be fraudulent — suspicious SMS, emails, calls, links, screenshots, and similar material. Risk assessments are advisory only and may not always be accurate.
4. Not legal, financial, or professional advice
Horas does not provide legal, financial, banking, immigration, or any other professional advice. Risk assessments are produced by automated AI systems and may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. You should always:
- Verify any specific claim through the official channels of the relevant entity (your bank's app or hotline, an official government portal, etc.).
- Report suspected fraud to your bank, local law enforcement, and the relevant national authority — for UAE residents, this is UAE eCrime (ecrime.ae) and your bank's 24/7 fraud hotline. The TDRA also accepts complaints about scam SMS at tdra.gov.ae.
- Use your own judgment and seek a qualified professional opinion before taking any irreversible action.
Horas is not responsible for any actions taken or not taken based on a risk assessment.
5. AI output limitations
Risk assessments are generated by large language models and pattern-matching heuristics. The Service may misclassify a legitimate message as suspicious, or fail to detect a sophisticated scam. A “low risk” verdict is not a guarantee of safety, and a “high risk” verdict is not a guarantee of fraud. Treat Horas as a second opinion, not a final authority.
6. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available but make no uptime guarantees. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Horas, its operators, or its service providers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Direct damages, if any, are capped at AED 100 or the equivalent in your local currency. Because the Service is provided free of charge, this cap is intentionally low — nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under UAE law.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data from the Service.
- Reverse engineer the analysis methods, AI prompts, or knowledge base.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including to plan, commit, or facilitate fraud.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or the administrative portal.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service.
- Submit content you do not have the right to share (for example, screenshots of confidential third-party correspondence with no fraud-prevention purpose).
- Redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit the Service or its outputs.
- Inject prompts, instructions, or content designed to manipulate the AI into producing harmful, biased, or off-topic output.
We reserve the right to rate-limit, suspend, or block access for users who violate these terms or whose use disrupts the Service for others.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its prompts, knowledge base, code, and design, is owned by Horas and its licensors. You retain ownership of the content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Horas a non-exclusive licence to process it for the purpose of generating your risk assessment, improving the Service, and maintaining the fraud-detection knowledge base, in line with our Privacy Policy.
10. Privacy
See our Privacy Policy for information on how we handle your data, including the legal bases we rely on, how long we keep your data, and your rights as a data subject.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising from your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Emirate of Dubai, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
12. Severability
If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged at the top of the page for at least 30 days. Continued use of the Service after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
